FAQ

This is my first photoshoot, what should I know?

Before the Shoot: Preparation is Key

Start by communicating with your photographer about the details—what style they’re aiming for, the location (studio or outdoors), and any specific wardrobe or props needed. If it’s a modeling gig, you might need to provide measurements or simple “digitals” (basic photos from different angles against a plain background). Plan your outfits thoughtfully: Choose comfortable, well-fitting clothes that suit the theme, like solid colors for headshots or eclectic pieces for creative shoots. Avoid all-black outfits if possible, as they can absorb light and hide your shape. Bring essentials like nude or seamless undergarments (black, white, or skin-tone), pasties if needed, a pair of heels, and loose clothing to prevent marks on your skin from tight outfits.

Grooming-wise, get plenty of rest the night before, eat healthily, drink lots of water, and skip alcohol to avoid puffiness or bags under your eyes. If there’s a makeup artist (MUA), arrive with a clean face; otherwise, keep makeup natural. Avoid trying new skincare products or self-tanners unless you’re experienced with them, as they could cause uneven results. Pack a bag with water, snacks (for energy during longer sessions), sunscreen for outdoor shoots, and any inspirational photos or poses you’ve practiced.

Are the travel expenses included in your packages?

Travel expenses are included in our Top Tier package and are otherwise billed at $1 per mile to location.

Can you recommend any good locations?

Yes, professional photographers typically recommend suitable locations for your photoshoot based on your vision, theme, and practical factors like lighting and permits. Share your preferences—such as urban, natural, or personal spots—during planning, and we will suggest options like parks, beaches, or studios to ensure the best results. It’s a collaborative process,  so don’t hesitate to ask for tailored recommendations

What if the weather is bad on the day of an outdoor shoot?

Bad weather during an outdoor photoshoot isn’t always a setback—it can create unique, flattering lighting like soft overcast skies or dramatic mood effects. Prepare by checking forecasts early, discuss rescheduling or indoor backups with your photographer, and bring protective gear for your wardrobe and yourself.
